Governor Murphy signed Assembly Bill No. 2610 ...
MANALAPAN, NJ – September 13, 2024 – On Thursday (Sept 12), Governor Murphy signed Assembly Bill No. 2610. The bill appropriates $20 million annually to the New Jersey Racing Industry divided equally between thoroughbreds and standardbreds through State fiscal year 2029. This bill is an extension of the State's commitment to provide purse appropriations to the racing industry starting in 2019.
The funding provided by this legislation will allow New Jersey's horse racing industry to continue to compete at high levels. Providing thousands of jobs and preserving farmland and open space while attracting tourists and fans from all over the world.
The extension of the appropriation bill was made possible by TrotPAC and AMG, our government lobbying firm. A thank you to all those who have donated and helped support TrotPAC over the years without you we would not be able to celebrate another win for the horse racing industry in New Jersey.
