BETTOR SWEET SCRATCHED FROM GRADUATE FINAL

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ -- May 15, 2009 -- World record holder Bettor Sweet has been scratched from Saturday's $210,000 Graduate Final at the Meadowlands due to an infection.

"We had some sick horses in the barn and when I scoped him earlier this week, he was clean," trainer Joseph Poliseno told the Meadowlands on Friday afternoon. "Today, I scoped him again, and he has a guttural pouch infection."

A guttural pouch is an air-filled out-pouching of the auditory or Eustachian tube.

In last week's Graduate elim, the four-year-old gelding paced a world record 1:47.2.
