GINGRAS WINS FIVE AT DOVER

DOVER, DE -- December 7, 2016 -- For the second consecutive day, a Dover driver had a five-bagger. On Tuesday (Dec. 6), it was Yannick Gingras. Meanwhile Empress Deo, who was second beaten a nose last week, won the $20,000 Mares Open Handicap for the second time in three weeks splashing to victory in 1:52.3 over a rainy racetrack.

Allan Davis used the passing lane to storm home first in the top distaff event of the week recording her fifth victory of the season with 11 seconds and six thirds for Legacy Racing. She has now won $147,633 in 2016. Consistent Elliesjet N (Jonathan Roberts) closed sharply to finish second ahead of early leader Scandalicious (Tim Tetrick), third. Inittowinafortune (Corey Callahan) was a close fourth.

Terrror At Night got up in 1:52.2 to win the first of two $15,000 female paces with Jim Morand at the controls for trainer Les Givens and owners Ed Maas, Arlene Paisley and Nanticoke Racing. Arts Jem (Tetrick) and On Your Six (Tony Morgan) finished second and third respectively. Terror AT Night won for the eighth time this campaign moving seasonal earnings for the Western Terror-Enhance The Night filly to $130.555.

Set Me Up with Tim Tetrick scored a 1:53 conquest in the other $15,000 distaff pace. Ron Burke trains the Shark Gesture-Moccasin Flight mare for Weaver Bruscemi and Burke Racing. Dublin Rose (Corey Callahan) was runner-up. Enhance Your Mind (Vic Kirby) was the show horse. The Set Me Up win was her eighth of the year banking $132,325.

Yannick Gingras made the winner’s circle five times; Tim Tetrick had three wins, while owner-driver Vic Kirby and trainer Josh Green chalked up doubles.

Awsome Valley and Boffin are new to the $20,000 Open Trot Handicap feature race on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at Dover.

Monday through Thursday, post time is 4:30 p.m. Dover Downs is dark on Fridays. Saturdays and Sundays this meet.
