RACING MEMORABILIA AUCTION TO BENEFIT SRF BEGINS ON EBAY

NEPTUNE TWP, NJ – July 12, 2015 – The items are posted on eBay and the bidding begins for racing memorabilia, including horse shoes worn by divisional champion See You At Peelers.

Autographed whips and photos as well as Hambletonian-related items are among the fan-favorites being auctioned by Suzanne D’Ambrose of Neptune, NJ, a volunteer with the Standardbred Retirement Foundation. All the proceeds from the 10-day auction will benefit the SRF.

“We use the funds to buy grooming supplies, fly spray, horse care items and special treats for the retirees at the SRF’s Cream Ridge, NJ farm,” said D’Ambrose. “Many thanks to horsemen and friends who have donated these many treasures. One hundred 100 percent of what is raised will benefit the retired racehorses.”

See You At Peelers, who was the Two-Year-Old Filly Pacer of the Year in 2010 and the Three-Year-Old Filly Pacer of the Year in 2011, retired with 26 wins in 31 starts and $1.5 million in earnings. The two shoes were worn by the trotter in her last race in 2012 and come with a letter of authenticity.

Among the items that will be auctioned are Hambletonian shirts and scarves. Autographed driving whips, which also have certificates of authenticity, will be included. The whips are signed by Hall of Famer John Campbell as well as Tony Alagna, Ron Burke, Casie Coleman, Jeff Gregory, and Brian Sears. One driving whip has four signatures on it: Cory Callahan, Nancy Johansson, Marcus Miller, and Scott Zeron.

Also available is a 10 ½ x 13 ½ mounted photo of Niatross and driver-trainer Clint Galbraith, winning the 1980 James B. Dancer Memorial at Freehold Raceway.
