IN THE ARSENAL WINS FIRST PACE ELIM

MANALAPAN, NJ – July 11, 2015 -- In The Arsenal [$7.00] had all the firepower he need to win the first of two $50,000 Meadowlands Pace eliminations with a wire-to-wire effort in the sixth race on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Meadowlands.

Brian Sears put the American Ideal-LadyOTRA colt on the lead off the gate controlled the pace with a first quarter in 27.2, half in 56.1 and three-quarters in 1:23.3, holding off Dealt A Winner [Cam’s Card Shark] in 1:49.1, with a final quarter in 25.3.

It was a length and a half winning margin.

Dude’s The Man [American Ideal] was third by a length and three-quarters. Also advancing to the track’s signature stakes for three-year-old pacers, the $706,000 Meadowlands Pace Final on July 18, will be 1-2 favorite Artspeak [Western Ideal], who was fourth, and Revenge Shark [Cams Card Shark] in fifth.

“Sometime he gets a little uncomfortable in the hole,” Sears said of his decision to race on the front end. “If I just let him do his thing on the front, he’s much better off. It worked out pretty good tonight. He did everything he had to do. The easier we can make it, the better off we are. The horse has been good all year. I’ve had no complaints. He’s a sweetheart. He comes out every week feeling good. That’s all you can ask. He’s got the talent. He’s one of the top colts.”

In the Arsenal, owned by his breeder White Birch Farm of Allentown, NJ in partnership with In The Arsenal Racing of Long Beach, NY, is trained by Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association of New Jersey Director Kelvin Harrison, who last had a Meadowlands Pace starter 23 years ago when Direct Flight finished third.

“I didn’t have the power [to get back into the Meadowlands Pace],” Harrison said. “I’ve had a couple of racehorses for White Birch, but this is the first baby for White Birch. He’s very competitive with anything on a half, but he’s really, really slick on a half. He can go around any track. [Seeing the half in 56.1], I’m thinking it’s over. I knew they’d come [after him], but I didn’t think they’d get him from there. He’s an easy keeper. He doesn’t need to train hard. Just need to stay nice and healthy.”

In The Arsenal now has five wins, a second and a third in eight starts this year for earnings of $355,345. Lifetime, the bay colt has 11 wins, two seconds and two thirds from 19 starts for a $751,663 bankroll.
