HURRIKANE ALI & WICKED LITTLE MINX WIN IN 2ND LEG OF NJSS

MANALAPAN, NJ – May 23, 2015 – Hurrikane Ali extended his winning streak to three and Wicked Little Minx posted her first win of the year in $25,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes divisions for three-year-old pacers, the co-features on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at the Meadowlands.

Both are offspring of Rocknroll Hanover.

Hurrikane Ali, driven by Yannick Gingras and trained by John McDermott Jr., was winless at two, finishing second in three of five starts. But he has been a perfect three-for-three in 2015.

Sent off as the 1-5 favorite, he took the lead in mid backstretch and held off Gokudo Hanover [Cam’s Card Shark] by a length and a quarter. It was three and three-quarter lengths to Edward Teach [Rocknroll Hanover] in third.

Hurrikane Ali paced the mile in 1:50.1.

Owned by the partnership of Kuhen Racing LLC of Yardley, PA; Jonathan Klee Racing of Mineola, NY; Kenneth Rucker of Mondovi, WI and Robert Pucila of Mount Kisco, NY, he improved his career bankroll to $73,075.

Wicked Little Minx, racing for Courant AB of Stockholm, Sweden, paced a career best 1:51.1, hanging on for a head victory over fast-closing favorite Stacia Hanover [Western Ideal]. Quick Aint Fair [Rocknroll Hanover] was third by three and three-quarter lengths.

Tim Tetrick guided the Nancy Johansson trainee who posted her first win of the year in three starts and made her second trip to the winner’s circle in 14 career starts. She has earnings of $67,935.

The $100,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes Finals for three-year-olds will take place on May 30, 2015.
