HHI ANNUAL MEETINGS SET FOR MARCH 1-5, 2015

HIGHTSTOWN, NJ – February 5, 2015 -- Harness Horsemen International will hold its annual meetings and awards luncheon, beginning Sunday, March 1, 2015 at the Embassy Suites Deerfield Beach Resort & Spa, Deerfield Beach, FL.

The featured speaker will be Dr. Mary Robinson of the University Of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center.

Registration starts at 2 p.m. on Sunday, followed by a welcome reception at 5:30 pm, with General Sessions to begin daily on March 2, 3, and 4. In addition, HHI Committees will meet on Tuesday, March 3 to discuss pertinent industry issues and concerns.

Harness racing’s Gene Oldford, Jerry Knappenberger and Derick Giwner will be feted with HHI’s most prestigious awards for 2014 at the HHI Awards Luncheon on March 4.

HHI Past President Oldford is being honored as the 2014 Dominic Frinzi Person of the Year; Knappenberger, the former general manager of the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association, will be awarded the 2014 HHI Appreciation Award while Giwner, harness racing editor of the Daily Racing Form, is the 2014 Clyde Hirt Media Award winner.

The HHI meetings will conclude with a farewell breakfast on Thursday, March 5.

HHI is comprised of horsemen’s associations from the United States and Canada who collectively represents the agriculture based industry of harness racing in North America. HHI’s governing body consists of representatives from its member associations.
