TOP FREE FOR ALLERS TO CONTEST TVG FINALS

MANALAPAN, NJ – November 26, 2014 – No sooner will the last of the leftover Thanksgiving turkey be disposed of than the free for all trotters and pacers are back to work in the TVG Finals on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Meadowlands.

Ten will go postward in the $500,000 TVG Final for trotters, the tenth race, and eight will face off in the $500,000 TVG Final for pacers, the seventh race.

The TVG Pace includes a rematch from last week’s Breeders Crown when Thinking Out Loud edged out Sweet Lou by a head and State Treasurer by a neck. Modern Legend, Foiled Again, Clear Vision and Bettor’s Edge will attempt to improve on the Breeders Crown efforts and will be joined by Warrawee Needy.

Sweet Lou, with Ron Pierce driving for trainer Ron Burke, gets the slight 5-2 nod in the morning line from post three. Thinking Out Loud, handled by John Campbell for Robert McIntosh, is the 3-1 second choice from post five.

With Breeders Crown champion Commander Crowe back in Europe, the TVG Trot features Sebastian K against two formidable mares, Bee A Magician and Maven.

Sebastian K, who dominated the trotting ranks this summer, did not supplement to the Breeders Crown and spent some time away from the races to address some foot issues. The Ake Svanstedt trained and driven eight-year-old leaves from post and is 2-1 in the morning line.

Maven, runner-up to Commander Crowe, finishing three-quarters of a length back after a game stretch bid, is rated 3-1 from post 10 with Yannick Gingras in the sulky for trainer Jimmy Takter.

Bee A Magician, the Horse of the Year in 2013, won the Breeders Crown Mares Trot and is listed at 9-2 from post three with David Miller filling in for Brian Sears, who is in Paris for an event at Vincennes. The four-year-old mare is trained by Nifty Norman.

The field also includes Creatine, Wishing Stone, DW’s NY Yank, Market Share, Intimidate, Flanagan Memory and Arch Madness.

NEWS & NOTES

Seven of the 10 trotters in the TVG Final are millionaires – or better – topped by 10-year-old Arch Madness who has a bankroll of nearly $4.3 million. Market Share sits at better than $3.5 million with Sebastian K less than $46,000 from $3 million. Double millionaires include Wishing Stone at nearly $2.4 million and Bee A Magician with $2.7 million. Then there are four-year-olds Creatine, with more than $1.2 million, and Maven, with $1.7 million.

HarnessRacing.com’s Weekend Preview reports that the Svandstedt Stable’s racehorse division will be leaving their New Jersey base of operations for a winter in Florida on Monday. The TVG will be Sebastian K’s last start of the year. Also reported was that Maven, purchased for $750,000 out of the Harrisburg Mixed Sale earlier in the month by Herb Liverman now has two additional owners, John Fielding and Joyce Ann McClelland. The same trio owns two-year-old Breeders Crown Colt Trot winner Pinkman.

Always B Miki, a late scratch out of the Breeders Crown Three-Year-Old Colt Pace, underwent surgery Monday morning for the repair of his long pastern bone [P-1] of his left hind leg. Dr. Patty Hogan performed the surgery, installing four screws to repair the fracture. He is expected to race again in 2015.
