TRIXTON TO STAND AT DEO VOLENTE FARMS

FLEMINGTON, NJ – October 31, 2014 -- Trixton, the 2014 Hambletonian champion has been retired and will stand stud at Deo Volente Farms in Flemington, NJ for the 2015 breeding season, it was jointly announced by Hall of Fame trainer-driver Jimmy Takter and Mike Gulotta, majority owner of Deo Volente.

Trixton

“I’m excited that this great colt will stand in New Jersey at such a great farm like Deo Volente” said Takter, who makes his home at Millennium Farm, his training center in East Windsor, NJ.

“Trixton represents a significant new beginning for the New Jersey breeding industry in tune with Jeff Gural’s enlightened stewardship at the New Meadowlands racetrack,” Gulotta said. “

The New Jersey racing program is improving, Gulotta noted, and the program should be competitive with other state’s programs by the time Trixton’s foals reach the racetrack.

“We think Mike Gulotta has demonstrated great foresight to stand Trixton in New Jersey,” said Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association President Tom Luchento. “We hope breeders will share his faith in the future of the New Jersey program and breed their mares to Trixton.”

In two seasons of racing, Trixton earned $947,057, taking his mark of 1:50.3 while defeating Nuncio in the Hambletonian, despite racing the entire mile parked on the outside.

Trixton’s stakes wins included the Good Times in 1:51.3, the Simpson in 1:51.2, the Reynolds in 1:51.4 and the Simcoe in 1:52.2.

Trixton is by Muscle Hill, a son of Muscles Yankee, who is responsible for consecutive Hambletonian winners Deweycheatumnhowe, [2008] Muscle Hill [2009] and Muscle Massive [2010]. Muscles Yankee is the foremost son of foundation sire Valley Victory. Trixton is link number four in a leading sire line.

Trixton’s dam Emilie Cas El is a full sister to three contemporary trotting sires -- Andover Hall, Angus Hall and Conway Hall. The next dam is Amour Angus, a leading trotting broodmare of her generation.

Trixton will stand for a fee of $12,000 in 2015.

Syndication term sheets will be available at Harrisburg from Mike Gulotta and Bob Marks, and can also be obtained by calling Deo Volente Farms at 908-782-4848.
