SERVICES ANNOUNCED FOR RONNIE GOGUEN

MANALAPAN, NJ – October 14, 2014 -- Services for Raoul “Ronnie” Leopold Goguen [1937-2014] will be held in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada on Wednesday, October 15, 2014.

Ronnie Goguen was most recently stable foreman for the Jonas Czernyson Stable and formerly employed by the Stanley Dancer, Jan Johnson and Per Eriksson stables.

At a future date, Jonas and Christine Czernyson plan to host a memorial service for Goguen in New Jersey.

“My heart aches for a man that we called Uncle Ronnie,” Christine Czernyson wrote on Facebook. “We shared no blood relation but we were family of our own making, and for that I will forever be eternally grateful!”

For information on the Canadian services, visit www.cobbsfuneralhome.ca.

He passed away on October 11, 2014 at the Moncton Hospital following a yearlong battle with cancer.

Born in Memramcook, raised on John St. in Moncton, he was the son of the late Edward & Alva (Melanson) Goguen. He is survived by four brothers, Meddy (Therese) Sebright, Ont., Joseph (Joanne) and Normand (Florine) Dieppe, Rodrique (Sandra) St. John by five sisters, Florida (Rock) Dube, Sherbrook, PQ, Lillian (Grant) MacMellon & Mary Wilson both of Moncton, Phyllis (Ron) Perry, Dieppe, Louise (Ken) Gorman, Halifax and brother-in-law George Frizzell. He was predeceased by five brothers, Leonard, Oswald, Zoel, Dollard, and Victor, a sister Pauline Frizzell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He began his career in the harness racing industry at the age of 28 when he moved to the United States, where he was honored to work with some of the best stables, and he gained his knowledge of how to assess a good horse.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Friends of the Moncton Hospital Annual Campaign or Karing Kitchen would be appreciated.
