MC DERMOTT, LAUER & BOWN RECEIVE 2014 SBOANJ SCHOLARSHIPS

MANALAPAN, NJ – July 26, 2014 – John McDermott, Jennifer Lauer and Maja Bown, selected as winners of the Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association of New Jersey Scholarships for 2014, received their plaques and checks in winner’s circle ceremonies at the Meadowlands on Friday, July 25, 2014.


Scholarship presentations were made on Friday night, July 25, 2014 to three honorees. Left to right are BCAP Executive Director Chris Samaha, Maja Bown, John McDermott, SBOANJ Director Ed Razzetti, Jennifer Lauer and SBOANJ Director Dennis Lane. {Photo by Lisa Photo Inc.]


Each received $2,500. Making the presentations were SBOANJ directors Ed Razzetti and Dennis Lane along with Backstretch Community Assistance Program [BCAP] Executive Director Chris Samaha.

John McDermott of Lyndhurst, NJ, recently completed his first year at the University of Florida in Gainesville where he is pursuing a degree in business administration.

Jennifer Lauer of Hightstown, NJ attends East Stroudsburg University and aspires to be a veterinarian.

Maja Bown, a graduate of West Orange High School, will be attending the University of New Hampshire in the fall.
